2 Guys Ducting is not only an installation company but also a design company. We are trained and certified in the proper software and methodologies to design geothermal and air source heat pump systems in-house using Manuals J, D, and S and proper system design practices.

We are one of the few companies that are certified as both designers and installers. Many companies outsource their designs to third parties. We do not. All design and engineering work is done in-house.

Based in Rochester, NH, we serve projects across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, and Vermont, scheduling by region to keep timelines efficient and dependable.

Why Choose Geothermal?

Geothermal heating and cooling offers major long-term benefits, including:

  • Lower operating costs and improved efficiency
  • Consistent comfort through New England winters and summers
  • The only heat pump system that does not require fossil fuels or, in many cases, any backup heating at all.
  • Quiet operation and dependable performance
  • Geothermal heat pumps are indoor equipment, and their ground loop "condensers" are in the ground. This results in an extremely long system lifespan compared to fossil fuel and air source heat pump systems, often two to two-and-a-half times longer.

Geothermal Services We Provide

  • Inside: Ground source heat pump systems, both water-to-water and water-to-air
  • Outside: Ground source systems. We install closed-loop and open-loop geothermal applications
  • Complete Manual J, Manual D, and Manual S to assure proper system sizing and design for your project
  • High-efficiency heating and cooling solutions in two-stage and variable-speed equipment
  • Residential and small commercial applications

Experience Matters

Geothermal installation isn’t a “one size fits all” job. It requires knowledge, planning, and proper execution to perform the way it’s designed to. Our team brings decades of hands-on experience and a detail-driven approach to every project—because the best results come from doing it professionally, not doing it fast.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is geothermal heating and cooling?

Geothermal heating and cooling is an energy-efficient system that uses the earth’s natural stable temperature to heat and cool your home or business. It works through a ground-source heat pump, providing consistent indoor comfort while reducing energy costs compared to traditional HVAC systems.

  • How does a geothermal system save energy and reduce costs?

Geothermal systems use the constant temperature underground as a heat source in winter and a heat sink in summer. This method reduces energy consumption, lowers utility bills, and provides a sustainable alternative to conventional heating and cooling methods, making it ideal for homeowners and small commercial properties.

  • Does 2 Guys Ducting install geothermal systems for both residential and small commercial properties?

Yes. Geothermal is one of our core specialties. We handle system design, loop field coordination, equipment installation, and ducting or radiant distribution. Geothermal offers extremely low operating costs, long system life, quiet operation, and stable performance in cold climates. If you are building a new home or doing a major renovation, geothermal is worth a serious look.

  • What maintenance is required for a geothermal system?

Geothermal systems are low-maintenance compared to traditional HVAC. We recommend annual inspections of the heat pump and loop system to ensure optimal performance. Proper maintenance ensures longevity, energy efficiency, and consistent comfort year-round.
